Worship Leader

About This Role

The role of the Worship Director is to lead all aspects of the worship life within Maple Grove Christian Church, which involves envisioning, equipping, and mobilizing the musical talents of volunteers. The Worship Director shepherds people in authentic worship through the experience of music and also assists in the creative efforts of the church.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Worship Director

• Serve as the primary worship leader for Maple Grove Christian Church.
• Build, direct, coordinate, and develop the band.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and lead the music for weekend services.
• Lead weekly rehearsals for the band and schedule team members.
• Assist in planning and/or leading worship for special events outside of weekend services (Midweek Service, Candlelight Service).
• Post chord charts, MP3s and other necessary elements for the band each week.
• Train or facilitate training for singers and instrumentalists.
• Manage and maintain the musical instruments and music technology equipment, keeping up to date with developments.
• Manage the music budget in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
• Build a library of music and support materials and maintain license agreements. Discover and introduce new songs for the church.
• Shepherd, coach, and care for all worship team volunteers.
• Set annual goals for the worship ministry that align with the overall mission, vision, and church-wide annual goals.
• Input and manage songs into worship presentation software each week.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and coordinate worship teams and activities.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, congregation, and other stakeholders.
• Teaching experience to lead and guide worship team members in musical and spiritual development.
• Mentoring skills to support and encourage team members in their personal and professional growth.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
