Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our GMP Manufacturing department as a Database Design Intern. As a Database Design Intern you will help the GMP Manufacturing team find a better way! Excel spreadsheets are a great way to document and keep track of data, however, it gets a little messy when multiple people are working on the same spreadsheets.
Project: You will help create an access database where we can input data and have it feed to a spreadsheet to improve data management efficiency, increase data integrity, and provide a platform for better data analysis and reporting.
How you will make an impact:
- Analysis and Design
- Analyze the existing spreadsheet structure
- Fill in missing data from our previous batch records
- Identify data relationships and requirements
- Design the database schema in Microsoft Access.
- Analyze the existing spreadsheet structure
- Data Migration and Implementation
- Migrate data from the spreadsheet to the Access database.
- Implement the database structure, including tables and relationships.
- Develop necessary queries, forms, and reports.
- Testing and Validation
- Conduct thorough testing of the database functionality.
- Validate data integrity and accuracy.
- Fine-tune queries and forms for optimal performance.
- Documentation and Presentation Preparation
- Document the database structure, migration process, and testing results.
- Prepare a presentation outlining the project's objectives, process, and outcomes.
- Presentation Delivery
- Deliver a presentation on your project to your team, peers and company leadership
The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree. Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access
- Attention to detail, especially when working with large datasets and spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must
The Summer Internship Program is a 9 week program beginning on June 17, 2024 through August 16, 2024.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
Salary : $20 - $25
