Description
Summary : Provides exceptional customer service while loading / unloading, processing, pricing and merchandising product in assigned department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Unloads trailers and assists sales staff with putting product away; operates material handling equipment safely; loads product safely into customer vehicles when purchases are made.
- Assists sales staff with moving products around on the sales floor; sets up displays and prices product as directed by department manager.
- Provides excellent customer service by answering questions and providing information on merchandise to customers as able and requested.
- Performs light housekeeping, dusting and keeping department clean.
- Assist customers with purchases as needed; including writing up house sales slips (non-commission) as needed when commissioned sales people are busy.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts, including alerting LP staff as soon as possible of customer / employee theft, tag switching, etc.
and of any unsafe conditions including slips, trips, and falls.
Other duties as assigned by department or store manager.

Education and / or Experience :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) : or one to three months related experience and / or training, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Some knowledge of merchandise or willingness to learn about merchandise merchandising.
Language Skills :
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to add and subtract six digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
