Position Summary
The Analyst, Corporate Development will be a critical member of the Companys deal team and will be involved in all aspects of the acquisition process with primary responsibility over target identification and evaluation, financial analysis, industry research and transaction completion. This role will report to the Senior Associate of Corporate Development and work closely with the corporate team with regular interaction with the Chairman, CEO, President, and Private Equity deal team. This role is hybrid, which one is expected to work ~50% of the time at the Lake Bluff, Illinois corporate office.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Part of the team that manages the acquisition strategy, execution, and front-end integration process;
- Work with internal resources and operating partners to cultivate and screen acquisition opportunities;
- Develop tool sets and processes to improve the efficiency of the corporate development team;
- Maintain internal reports for monitoring deal flow;
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with owners of target companies;
- Prepare financial and other analyses throughout the acquisition process;
- Create introductory presentations and proposals highlighting the merits of partnering with the buyer;
- Coordinate, conduct, review and summarize due diligence results identifying any issues;
- Prepare presentations for approval of acquisition opportunities for Board and financing approval;
- Conduct research on target companies, industry trends, and transactions multiples for leadership .
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
- Minimum 1 year of related work or internship experience
- Strong interpersonal skills including outstanding written and verbal communications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Well organized, paying attention to detail across all deliverables
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Able to manage multiple projects at varying stages of completion
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial accounting
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity, and discretion
Working Conditions
Work requires intermittent physical activity including standing, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer terminal. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external client needs and deadlines.
