Marianna is currently growing and needing to find the next Assistant Supervisor for 1st shift to join the team.
Job Summary:
Will oversee the proper loading and unloading of trucks, creation of interstate commerce shipping documentation for TL, LTL, parcel and hazardous shipments. Will assign work as required and ensure that both in and outbound production needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote and set the example for a Safe Work Environment, at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse in all areas
- Responsible for accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments, including paperwork.
- Responsible for working with the Kitting and Order Pulling Team in any way possible to get the job done
- Assist with AS400 System & inventory control (RF) issues.
- Verify quantities and special requirements are met per customer specifications.
- Provide support to the inventory team whenever needed
- Maintain a safe and orderly storage arrangement for all items handled by forklift drivers.
- Be able to perform all tasks in shipping and receiving including operation of lifts and RF Gun functions
- Keep equipment in good working order and ensure employees do so as well.
- Comply with, and work with staff to ensure compliance of, regulatory and company standards and procedures.
- Communicate company policies and procedures to employees and enforce them.
- Notify leadership of any safety or mechanical issues.
- Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships.
- Ensure proper staffing and that staff received appropriate training.
- Evaluate staff performance and competencies.
- Demonstrate independent judgment and make recommendations regarding business practices.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Make recommendations on employment decisions (e.g., hiring, disciplinary action, termination).
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
Additional Expectation:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Learn all aspects of kitting and order pulling, provide back up support for Supervisor in those departments
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 2 years forklift experience. (Stand-up lifts preferred)
- 2 years shipping experience including hazardous materials
- Experience with RF equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
- Ability to analyze discrepancies and make logical decisions.
- Cooperative attitude, interpersonal skills, and be able to multi-task.
- Ability to read, write and speak English competently.
- Ability to maintain, reliable and predictable attendance
Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills, Abilities:
- IATA shipment training.
- Hazardous material training.
- Advanced educational or vocational training in warehouse management and manufacturing operations.
- Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
- Formal training or work experience in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Microsoft Office/PC skills.
- Ability to direct others and provide constructive criticism diplomatically.
Environmental Conditions:
- Warehousing environment—some temperature extremes, dust, noise, and wet.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
