Experience Possession of a current Mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings issued by the FAA. Three (3) years of experience of repair and maintenance of fixed wing or helicopter aircraft. OR Combined education and experience qualifications Other combinations of education or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis. Other requirements Must possess a current mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings as issued by the FAA. Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver’s license. Must possess or have the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire, a Commerical Driver’s License CDL with Tanker and HazMat certification. Training with the exception of Arizona driver's license to be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; OSHA training; ADP payroll training; PREA training Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA. Bell Helicopter Factory School Training and/or experience maintaining Bell 407, 429 or other Bell Helicopters. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on fixed wing and rotorcraft owned by MCSO. Collaborates with supervisor and Aviation team about rotary and fixed-wing aircraft inspections, repairs, and maintenance to meet legal regulations and requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations, MCSO’s General Aviation Policy and Aviation Services Division Operations and Safety Policy, and vendors/manufacturers requirements/specifications. Performs daily aircraft inspections. Assist flight crews with launching and refueling aircrafts. Conducts periodic inspections and returns office aircraft to service. Operates precision measuring devices and special tools. Orders, retrieves, and maintains stock of spare parts and supplies for aircraft. Maintains aircraft maintenance records. Maintains ground equipment. Documents aircraft parts and component records. Communicates with supervisor and vendors on part ordering and aircraft maintenance needs. Provides and sustains organization of hangar and office area. Performs routine fuel samples on office fuel trailers and trucks. Maintains valid mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings required by FAA. Performs necessary steps to obtain inspection authorization for the FAA within the first two years of employment. Participates in on-call calendar to report to work outside regular work hours for unscheduled aircraft maintenance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on fixed wing and rotorcraft. Microsoft 365 and Office applications. Skill in Trouble shooting and programing software into systems. Performing routine maintenance on fixed wing / rotorcraft and determining when and type of maintenance needed. Ability to Making repairs and returning aircraft to airworthy conditions while adhering to tight timeframes. Painting and working with plastics and metals used in aircraft. Perform maintenance, follow instructions, and interpret drawings and diagrams. Maintain clear recordkeeping and organizational standards within the work environment. Disassembling and reassembling components; repairing, replacing and assembling parts using a variety of hand and power tools.
