What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Chorus Teacher position at Marin Girls Chorus?
Come join a legacy organization! The Marin Girls Chorus has served girls K-12 in Marin County for over 35 years and needs one or two new lower division teachers. Teachers will work with students in grades K-3 in 45 min to one-hour blocks. We have openings on Monday afternoons in San Rafael, Wednesdays in Novato and Thursday afternoons in Mill Valley. We may have additional opportunities within Marin County. Classes start around 3:45 pm but can start earlier on Wednesdays.
Job Description:
- Preparation and leading of one or more rehearsals per week (September-May)
- Conduct a minimum of two concerts per year (December 10,2022 and May 14, 2023).
- Attend monthly artistic staff meeting
- Provide written assessments of each student twice a year (January and May)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, preferably in voice or music education.
- Minimum two years of conducting experience.
- Minimum two years experience working with children.
- Expertise in Kodály and Orff teaching methods.
- Basic keyboard skills.
- Upbeat, creative personality.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
Salary will depend on experience and higher salary will be considered for those able to teach multiple classes.
