Provides professional accounting support and supervision to include verification of receipts and review, analysis, distribution, account determination, preparation, input
and validation of activity daily reports for all reporting segments of MCCS and other NAFIs as assigned. Exercises a detailed knowledge of general accounting principles applicable to retail and
cost environments. Establishes and ensures that administrative procedures are outlined and strictly adhered to. Applies a thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures in
performing accounts payable, general ledger, or accounts receivable functions by addressing situations with decisiveness and to reach correct results within the framework of an automated
financial system. Conducts audits to ensure the integrity of automated subsystems and the account balances. Maintains a working knowledge of automated systems including software applications and integrated subsystems, to include data input, diagnose malfunctions and take corrective action. Works with accounting personnel in reviewing and analyzing detailed accounting data as it relates to documents rendered by vendors, MCCS activities, credit card clearing houses or financial institutions. May prepare vouchers with supporting documents and post into accounting system. Prepares encodes and records approved vouchers for cash receipts. May prepare month-end schedules and coordinate monthly schedule of aged accounts payable. May perform accounting functions related to processing payroll budgets and projections.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the
higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury,
occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO
program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Three years experience in financial accounting that demonstrates possession of generally accepted accounting principles to include a thorough knowledge in fiscal matters, accounting principles, practices and procedures, regulations, and policies. Must have a high degree of proven initiative and originality in application and employment of accounting systems and directives applicable to NAF financial accounting. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
