This position is located at Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Store Worker for The Marine Corps Exchange.

Major Duties


Major Duties:

  • Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, and resale merchandise.
  • Receives, unloads and processes incoming shipments/trucks. Reports over, short, or damaged conditions.
  • Completes and signs shipping and receiving reports.
  • Locates, accesses, loads and movies material for shipment and verifies or prepares documents either manually or by using automated equipment such as computer terminal and bar code wands to read, store, track, and purpose vehicles.
  • Counts types and quantities of items during inventories. Recounts or searches other storage locations to assist in determining the basis for over, short, or misplaced items.
  • Responsible for efficient use of the Integrated Business Intelligence Suite (IBIS) applications in the retail store.
  • Performs detailed clerical/technical support involving the merchandise system by applying established guidelines and practices in reviewing frustrated freight, vendor invoices, purchase orders, verifying quantities received and changes to cost and or retail to merchandise for all sites within the command.
  • Acknowledges customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.
  • Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skill in all phases of warehousing operations, accepting warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to accomplish arithmetic computations and regulations and have the ability to read and write.
  • Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues.
  • Must have the ability to interpret all types of documents involved in warehouse receiving and distribution.
  • Skills to process and independently complete shipping and receiving documents to insure correctness of quantities, identification criteria and labeling.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages to include database, spreadsheet, internet access and merchandising operations/systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate with all level of MCX personnel.
  • Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance.
