Marion All Star is an Indiana-based company hiring for our client. This is an IN OFFICE position in Topeka, Kansas.

Job Description:

As part of the KanCare Clearinghouse Program, the Eligibility Specialist will perform a variety of duties, including gathering thorough documentation and entering information into various systems. Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing the initial application and reviews (for Family Medical programs) along with supporting documentation provided by applicants to determine eligibility for Federal and State medical assistance. Investigating applicant circumstances through the use of available computer systems (registries, databases and informational deposits), researching records provided by the applicant and their contacts to provide the information about the household income, resources and expenses upon which the eligibility determination is made.
  • Entering household information and authorizing eligibility with the Kansas Economic and Enforcement System (KEES). Specialist completes determinations using State and Federal regulations to determine eligibility for medical benefits based on financial and non-financial criteria. In addition, the Specialist documents the eligibility decision into the electronic case journal and sends appropriate system-based and manual correspondence to customers and representatives explaining the results of the eligibility determination and information regarding appeal rights.
  • Attending training as assigned to develop and enhance current understanding of Kansas Medicaid eligibility programs. Through training and experience, Specialist begins to develop expertise in additional areas of determination categories.
  • Uses knowledge of State eligibility policies, procedures and processes governing managed care enrollment to communicate with consumers regarding a variety of issues.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of guidelines, policies and regulations.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of all records and communications.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience using MS Office, Outlook and internet.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • One (1) year experience in determining Long-term Care, Elderly and Disabled or Family Medical eligibility preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs.
  • Successfully complete KDHE Eligibility Training.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to maneuver in complex software systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Possession of good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling and punctuation, is a MUST.
  • Requires excellent data entry skills, including the ability to type accurately 28-30 words per minute.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Schedule:

  • Training: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST.
  • Work Schedule: Following training, assigned an 8 1/2 hour shift during Call Center hours, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST.

Work Setting: In person at one location in Topeka, Kansas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
