Lead Technician- Job Description
The successful candidate will have the following capabilities:
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assembly and operational experience and knowledge (particularly mechanical assembly)
- Ability to interpret drawings and parts lists
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, joining, and finishing systems and which are compatible with each other
- Knowledge of piping and hose fittings and connections
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Detail oriented
- Communication – verbal and email
- Experience leading teams of fabrication or assembly personnel
- Proactive with work planning and deadlines
- Proven history of reliability with respect to work schedules
- Strong Computer Skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Rigging, lifting and moving including crane and forklift operation
- Understanding of implications and ability to work with HAZMAT materials
- Familiarity with quality assurance, inventory control and configuration management processes
Position Description: The Lead Technician job duties are as follows;
Tasks:
- Manage and lead teams that build large electro/hydraulic/mechanical system components and assemblies
- Communicate and work with MAPC teams
- Interpret system drawings and complete mechanical, electrical and pump work
- Identify solutions and make recommendations when problems arrive
- Communicate and document potential solutions
- Resolve system problems after receiving appropriate approvals
- Teamwork will be critical and the candidate should be able to work productively and efficiently as part of a team.
Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Work environment may be indoors and outdoors, occasionally in hot or cold environments.
