Manager, Global Network Operations

As the Manager, Global Network Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of our global network infrastructure, including cloud-based networking solutions. You will lead a team of network engineers and specialists to design, implement, and manage network solutions that support our global business operations, both on-premises and in the cloud. In this key position, you will also be tasked with establishing a managed service partner Network Operations Center (NOC) to provide 24/7 monitoring and management of our network infrastructure. This partnership will ensure continuous operational coverage, rapid incident response, and high availability of network services to meet the demands of our international clientele and remote workforce.

The Role

• Lead the design of a robust and scalable global network architecture that can support the current and future demands of the organization. This includes selecting appropriate network topologies, hardware, and protocols, as well as cloud networking components where applicable.
• Incorporate cloud networking strategies into the infrastructure design. This includes designing connectivity to cloud platforms, optimizing data transfer, and ensuring the secure and efficient use of cloud resources.
• Implement cloud-native networking services and technologies to optimize data transfer, reduce latency, and enhance scalability across hybrid cloud environments.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess the specific network needs of the organization, taking into consideration factors such as geographic diversity, scalability requirements, and emerging technologies. Conduct thorough network assessments to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop a comprehensive and forward-looking global network infrastructure strategy in alignment with the organization's overall business objectives. This strategy should encompass both short-term and long-term goals for network architecture and technology.
• Assess the current and future resourcing needs of the organization to support its growth and strategic objectives.
• Create clear career progression paths for employees to encourage skill development and retention.
• Implement training and development initiatives to enhance the skills and competencies of existing employees.
• Design, develop, and implement automation scripts and solutions to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency across various departments.
• Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize automated workflows for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

What you bring

• 8 years in a network related role, with 5 years in team management.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN.
• Ability to drive Network Operations strategies while ensuring alignment with the organization's overarching objectives.
• Understanding of IT operations, telecommunications, and relevant technologies. Familiarity with ITSM platforms, Configuration Management Databases (CMDB), and other IT operations tools.
• Profound understanding of cloud networking principles and services offered by major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with designing and implementing cloud networking solutions, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Virtual Networks, and connectivity options like Direct Connect or ExpressRoute.
• Proficiency in Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) technologies for optimizing network performance across distributed cloud environments.
• Experience in hybrid cloud networking strategies, including connecting on-premises data centers to public and private cloud resources.
• Experience with Machine learning and AI automation for Network operations.
• Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives and familiarity with relevant methodologies.
• Strong understanding of IT Network infrastructure, telecom technologies, and technology deployment processes.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field

Technical Certifications & Associations:

• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, or equivalent are a plus.
