JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual with a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience as a production clerk in a production environment with excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Suite) and the ability to learn and apply information quickly. Familiarization with USPS regulations is preferred. This is a 2nd shift position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Place logs of paper on conveyor loaders:
- Properly place material at a 45 degree angle.
- Recognize that material that has static qualities may need more handling.
- Place wood end blocks on appropriately marked skid.
- Remove packaging material from the bundles.
- Notifies Material Handler when stock levels are low.
- Maintains supply of trays and sleeves at each workstation.
- Verifies accuracy of code, counts the number of trays on each skid and moves skid to the postal area.
- Maintains neat and clean work area by emptying trash cans and recycle bins. Keeps all banding, string tape, paper, and broken skid boards off of the floor.
- Keep area organized, safe, and efficient.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required including the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Perform job duties in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
- Refers to written and verbal instructions / schedule to set up material for jobs at each machine.
- Transports material for each job to production area using material handling equipment (manual or electric pallet jack and forklifts) to transport material from staging area to appropriate line for each job.
- Monitors stock levels in production area and restocks as necessary.
- Returns materials for each completed job to the warehouse in a timely and orderly manner.
- Maintains neat and clean appearance in the production area by baling empty waste boxes, emptying trash cans, and keeping aisles clear at all times. Keeps all banding, string, tape and broken skid boards off the floor.
- Works with the other Material Handlers to assure that all material handling equipment is in good, safe working order.
- Regular and predictable attendance required, including the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Keep area organized, safe, and efficient.
- Perform job duties in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite) primarily in Excel and data management systems.
- Familiarization of USPS postal regulations preferred.
- Must be able to learn & apply information quickly
- Must be versatile and be able to shift quickly from one duty to another.
- Must be team oriented - a team player, willing to work for the good of the total team.
