Position Summary
Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking an AV Drafter to join our team in Indianapolis. The AV Drafter will work with multiple Markey's departments and is responsible for creating detailed floor plans and renderings for various events.
This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) role. Typical daytime hours, although occasional early mornings, late nights and weekend work may be required.
Position Responsibilities
Drafter/Renderer
• Create detailed floor plans and renders
• Assist with proposals which require detailed renders or diagrams to help secure the business
• Collaborate with members of Markey's Production Teams such as, Account Managers, Project Managers and Décor Department to create new looks for client events
• Track drafting time to enable accurate report on billable drafting hours per project
Event Support
• Consult with Account Managers to create drafts and renders suitable to each event
• Participate in Site Visits to ensure development of accurate floor plans
• Review and approve rigging diagrams for both internal and external customers
• Work with operations to create and maintain a venue database resource for event venues
o Loading information
o Power, rigging and IT
o Notes on access and egress
Vectorworks
• Create a guideline for Vectorworks usage so all files created are uniform,
o Title Block
o Format
o Symbols/ Shapes
• Drafting Venues:
o Update and maintain a detailed Vectorworks database of all venues and event spaces.
o Create symbols database of equipment utilized for Vectorworks shared library.
o Provide guidance and training for Vectorworks users.
o Set expectations for 'basic' top-down drawings.
Requirements
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as the ability to work independently
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Must have excellent customer service skills, and always maintain a positive and professional appearance and attitude
• Must possess a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities
• Knowledge of Vectorworks and adjacent software (ex. Adobe Suite) products used to develop high end renderings for customer proposals and internal training
• Excellent computer aptitude with the ability to use the Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, Office)
• Ability to embrace Markey's culture and demonstrate company values, respect diversity, and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to travel
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
