Description:
Markon is creating a team to provide Construction Management support Atlanta’s Veteran Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) and associated Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS). The team will be located on-site supporting infrastructure upgrades across the medical network through construction management, construction administration and claims services.
The team will provide a wide range of support services related to operations, renovations, and new construction programs supporting non-recurring maintenance, and minor and major project support. Support will include development of Concept Plans, Independent Government Cost Estimates, schedules, and Technical Specifications for each individual project. Assistance will be required for project development through all phases for developing quality solicitation packages for Design-Bid-Build contracts.
The government requires a broad range of professional and technical consultative assistance on this project. Our team will be supporting as an owner’s representative. A successful Architect candidate will provide subject matter expertise to support:
Review contractor submittals for technical compliance,
Survey existing conditions and consult with medical personnel to determine scope, phasing, impact on other medical center services, and other design requirements.
Prepare draft statements of work and/or cost estimates,
Review contractor change proposals and cost breakdowns,
Assist in the planning and coordination of utility outages,
Monitor ongoing construction activities to verify the construction contractor is following the schedule, and that completed work meets the design standards,
Assist in maintaining accurate job files with as-built drawings and specifications,
A successful candidate for Architect shall:
Possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Architecture,
Possess a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction,
Quickly understand and master the requirements of the local, state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of the project,
Possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
