Description:
Markon Solutions is seeking energetic, motivated engineering professional to serve as part of a technical team in support of the Engineering and Design (EAD) Section in the Engineering and Construction Management (ECM) Division of Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering design expertise, knowledge of governing building codes, and technical computer software skills in support of engineering studies, facilities condition assessments, engineering problem solving, developing cost-effective alternative solutions, and generation of technical specifications. Projects consist of new construction, refurbishment of existing infrastructure, structural repairs, renovation of built out spaces, and energy conservation. Construction consists of Commercial - Office, Commercial - Retail, Commercial - Food Handling, Industrial Heating/Cooling Plants, Office Building Systems and Controls, Horizontal Infrastructure (roads, bridges, parking lots...etc.), Service Level Utilities (Power, Water, Sewer...etc.) and Building Distribution, Environmental, and Hydraulic Drainage.
- Produce high-quality technical writing, conceptual renderings, and visual presentations for leadership decision and contractual Request for Proposal (RFP) development.
- Must be able to review and comment on documents, plans, and specifications of the Designer of Record (DOR).
- Work will be done on site equally in the office creating technical documents and in the field evaluating current infrastructure conditions.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, interact with project stakeholders, and operate effectively as a member of a diverse team.
Required:
- Education: Bachelors of Science (BS) in an Engineering Discipline (Minimum); Educated and Practiced Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Transportation or Hydraulic Engineer (Preferred)
- Experience: More than 7 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering (Minimum); Design Experience (Preferred); Previous experience in/around the Pentagon Reservation (Preferred)
- Professional Registration: E.I.T or Professional Engineer (Preferred but not required)
- Computer Software Experience: Expert in Microsoft Office and Outlook (Minimum); Proficient in CAD, Visual Rendering, Photoshop, GIS and other Engineering Software (Preferred)
- Critical Skills: Excellent Verbal and Written Technical Communication; Strong Analytical and Engineering Problem Solving; Effective Customer and Client Service
