We are looking for a Blaster that will be responsible for removal of paint and oxidation from railcars prior to paint. Removal of expended blast materials.
Job Responsibilities:
This is a general description of the essential functions of this job. This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be required to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be required to perform all functions.
- Safely operate blast equipment with moderate supervision.
- Produce blasted cars that meet the instruction given within the time frame allowed.
- Basic readying, writing and arithmetic skills required.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner and report potential hazards.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and able to drag blast hose over full length of railcar.
- Able to pass drug screen and physical.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- May work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection.
- Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass a basic skills test in math and reading measurements
Working Conditions:
- Climbing, ascending, or descending ladders.
- Lifting and carrying of tools and equipment up to 90 lbs.
- Manual dexterity utilized in the forming of template using wood, paper, or metal.
