The Sales Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and data management support to the sales team and other departments in the organization. The Sales Analyst will play a critical role in the enhancement and improvement of top-line business understanding and decision-making.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze, report, and make recommendations to management including but not limited to:
o product sales and trends by dollars and volume
- Track margin dollars and percentages by products and customers to assure organizational targets are met
- Organize and coordinate sales trends history to assist during annual revenue budget planning
- Monitor progress to budgets by product line and customer and identify possible issues or opportunities and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Monitor product sales vs forecast and work with various departments to assure sales goals are met
- Review product line pricing annually and coordinate changes to annual programs
- Develop and maintain product line price lists, execute, and maintain customer specific pricing
- Monitor customer purchases and recommend changes to forecast
- Other duties as required by management, may include backup responsibility for administrative duties of sales support team on occasion
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of experience as an analyst or similar position preferred
- Familiarity with sales/finance/demand management
- Advanced knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with expert knowledge of Excel
- Good group presentation skills and ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Enjoys working independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to coordinate and manage simultaneous data analysis requests
- ERP and SQL experience skills
