Maintenance

The Albany Marriott is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team! We are looking for candidates that are pro-active and hard-working, to repair and maintain the property in compliance with local, state, and brand standards.

Candidates will receive a $400 sign on bonus after completion of 90 days!

Duties and Functions:

• Respond to all guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner and according to department specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance service on all guestrooms, public areas, and administrative offices.
• Inspect and maintain mechanical areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
• Multi-task and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary.
• Exhibit a high level of professionalism in all interactions/situations.
• Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by a supervisor/manager.

Qualification Standards:

• 2 years of experience as an Engineer, preferably in a hotel.
• General knowledge of building maintenance and systems.
• Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly.
• Skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Ability to walk and/or stand during the entire shift.
• Medium Work- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to work Holidays and Weekends.
