What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Audit position at MARS?
This job will work closely with the other Internal Audit Managers to execute audits and will keep the Audit Director informed of progress and issues as and when necessary. The successful candidate will need to ensure audit reports are delivered with high quality and on schedule and budget. This entails a high degree of stakeholder management, including stakeholders within Internal Audit and the business. The ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and deal with ambiguity are imperative for success in this role. The role provides opportunity to participate and lead operational, strategic, and financial audits and consulting projects across all Mars segments in the Americas IA team. He/she will have opportunity to support cross region audits and initiatives to deliver value for global S&F. He/she is responsible for delivery of the IA annual plan for the Americas region, and contributing to the strategy development and execution. The role will serve as a point of contact and knowledge partner for Unit and Regional S&F stakeholders driving governance and the risk agenda.
What are we looking for?
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, engineering or a similar field
- 4 years in External or Internal Audit, Internal or Financial Control within Big4 or FMCG preferred.
- 4 years in Mars with background in S&F, Non-S&F experience possible, e.g. Specialized services, Operations, Effectiveness teams.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Conducts and leads operational and financial audits across all Mars segments in the Americas IA team, which will encompass: identifying and evaluating risks, performing audit procedures, conducting interviews, reviewing evidence, preparing work papers and reports, providing recommendations to improve the internal control environment using Mars Inc. policies and procedures, professional judgement and experience.
Provides consulting services on governance, risks and controls to the organization’s management and other stakeholders.
Provides key input to development of the risk-based annual internal audit plan.
Develops and maintains productive team-oriented stakeholder and peer relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
Provides or assists in providing training, coaching, and guidance to fellow internal audit associates in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.
