As an associate of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, the SRA Program Lead performs a variety of regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, labelling, claims, packaging, and regulatory database management to ensure compliance with applicable food and other product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes, policy and within assigned areas of responsibility in China. This position proactively identifies potential regulatory problems and opportunity, takes actions, such as registration, as appropriate, to minimize or eliminate such problems and performs other duties to assist in creating a positive scientific and regulatory environment for innovation and business goals.

What are we looking for?

1. Education & Professional Qualification

Minimum: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, such as standardization, chemistry, nutrition, food science, public health, biology or relevant field of work is required.

Preferred:  A Master’s degree in a technical area, such as such as standardization, chemistry, nutrition, food science, public health or biology is preferred.

2. Knowledge/Experience

At least 3 year of experience in food regulatory compliance/affairs, and health and nutrition sciences, nutrition/regulatory policy deployment, ingredient registration, and food safety risk assessment. Solid English communication skills and ability to work effectively with global partners.

3. Travel,

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Perform regulatory compliance activities for new categories, i.e., ice cream, related to product formula, raw material/ingredient (MRA), labeling, claims, nutrition label and regulatory database management, to ensure compliance with applicable food laws, regulations/ standards, Mars SRA standards /policies.
• Anticipate China food trend in scientific professional insights and health and food policy, to co-lead FTO and FFG programs from regulatory insights and perspectives. And, influence and advocate new scientific trends with Mars interests through external stakeholders engagement.
• Lead China Product/ Ingredient Registration agenda under innovation blueprint strategy, regional portfolio pipeline and Science and Technology research readiness, and drive China regional new ingredient/ novel food material, or other registration connecting with China food law, policy and authority agenda.
• Enable MW China innovation pipeline, develop claim strategy and product benefit story to promote of food  scientific reputation with external stakeholders
• Take lead on other regulatory affairs programs as assigned.
