Director of Operations (Facility and Mechanical Services)

The Director of Operations will assist in overseeing Marsden Service’s Integrated Facilities Services (IFS) and Mechanical operations and will be responsible for driving quality, safety and profitable execution of IFS and Mechanical strategies. The Operations Director will oversee the training and development of the team and will provide a safe and respectful work environment for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishes best practices, managing internal and external relationships and delivering outstanding customer service
• Owns unit turn process, inspections, and execution/follow up of bids quotes
• Owns developing best practices, tools and systems for all of IFS and Mechanical
• Leads and develops team – Staffing, decision-making, motivating, facilitating, accountability and process improvement; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops team member’s skills and encourages growth
• Supports implementation of tools, systems and technology (Yardi implementation)
• Provides accurate and timely information to Talent Acquisition regarding current staffing and future staffing needs; Actively participates in recruiting process with recruiters and leadership staff
• Responds to customer complaints in a timely and efficient way
• Ensures all associates are properly trained with a focus on long term retention and safety
• Maintains a safe work environment for self and employees by enforcing the Company’s safety, recognition, and training programs
• Assigns tasks to associates and inspects completed work for conformance to standards
• Performs other related duties assigned by management

Education and Experience Required

• 3 years of experience leading in a complex field organization, including multi-unit management.  Facilities Services, HVAC/Mechanical, Janitorial or other service-related industry preferred
• Experience in a mobile leadership role with responsibility for a decentralized workforce multiple customers and multi-location portfolio
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Hours will vary and typically occur outside of normal business hours; must have scheduling flexibility to best serve our customer and the team

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
