Position Summary
The Operations Manager oversees a team executing a high level of customer care for a significant account within the [Location] market and will drive the Leadership Engagement Growth & Safety (LEGS) strategy of the Company. The Operations Manager oversees all daily operations of Supervisors and Technicians engaging in repair, welding and maintenance of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs and manages key operational functions
- Develops and maintains relationships of trust and engagement with on-site client
- Ensures standards for service quality, equipment, safety and performance are maintained and that cost-effective resources are used to maximize service standards
- Implement processes and structure in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas. Alerts key stakeholder(s) of cost and labor over run. Makes recommendations and implements solutions
- Builds a culture of work safety and leads by example with one's own safe behavior
- Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with Company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate
- Conducts regular operations staff / training meetings with all direct reports
- Manages budget and controls expenses effectively
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals
- Regular travel to support operation sites
- Uses Microsoft Office-based cost management system to audit bi-weekly budgets for all assigned accounts to include labor, supplies, leases and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing experience with a focus on 5S and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong understanding of budgeting and expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices

Education and Experience
- 5 years of leadership experience in a distribution, manufacturing, trucking or closely related service operation
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership with responsibility for a decentralized workforce
- Ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:
o Black Belt in Six Sigma
o Best Manufacturing Principles
o Lean Manufacturing
o 5S Methodology
- 4 year degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field is preferred
