Life, Absence Management & Disability (LAD) Consultant
What can you expect?
- The LAD Consultant will work on client engagements that primarily support employers life and absence programs which include long term disability (LTD) , short term disability (STD), family & medical leave act (FMLA) and other solutions
- Participates as a member of the Consulting team in developing overall client benefit plan strategies
- Work with colleagues on client engagements, including supporting the overall delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies
- Supports senior consultants in managing client accounts, researching, analyzing, and evaluating employee benefits plans and programs

We will count on you to :
- Support financial analysis and review : including underwriting, data analytics, and partnership with actuaries to support funding analysis
- Project management, managing the quality and timeliness of deliverables; delegates to more junior colleagues and reviews their work
- Help write and structure client communications, including proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Establish & build necessary carrier / vendor relationships with appropriate contacts
- Assist senior consultants with reviewing client needs, recommending suitable approaches, and helping implement benefit program strategies
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal teams and subject matter experts, as well as develops relationships with clients
- Interacts with carriers and vendors to gather quotes, negotiate, handle client service issues and review plan documentation
What you need to have :
- BA or BS
- Minimum 3 years of Life, Accident & Disability Insurance, or related experience
- State Life and Health License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
- Ability to project manage high volume of work with LAD Core Consultants team members, H&B Mercer Consultants, COE LAD Consultants and carrier partners
- Ability to manage expectations and timelines as they change and evolve
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically working knowledge of Excel
