Job Summary:  We are seeking a highly analytical Senior Research Analyst with expert level research skills to join our team.  This internal role is responsible for conducting ad-hoc and programmatic analysis of key business drivers related to AMI companies and sectors.   You will provide high quality research to ensure successful delivery of our client engagements spanning commercial due diligence advisory, commercial effectiveness and strategy projects.   The role requires you to be a proactive contributor to the Practice.  The Senior Research Analyst would also help lead and develop junior members of the team.    

The candidate will liaise closely with Partners, Consultants and Research colleagues to co-develop research tools and models enabling the efficient support of our client work.  Part of the deal diligence work will involve research efforts to understand market size, competitor landscape, sector growth and profitability.   The developmental focus for this role will be toward deep industry specialization, information resource expertise and the continuous improvement in synthesis and analysis of your deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate with stakeholders within the firm to deliver high-quality and compelling research products, including analyses to support proposal or client work

• Handle end-to-end development of business-relevant tools, from ideation to implementation.  This will be in close collaboration with members of the AMI practice

• Create and maintain standard market and competitive analysis decks for client projects

• Provide active mentoring, training and learning opportunities to junior research colleagues

• Conduct timely, accurate, creative, and cost-effective research

• Develop deep industry specialization and information resource expertise

• Stay current on industry trends and developments

• Foster a culture of teaming.  Build strong relationships with the AMI and Knowledge Services teams to facilitate the successful delivery of client work

• Effectively prioritize and manage deadlines for yourself and junior colleagues

• Adhere to OW work standards and processes

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of AMI related research experience in a professional services firm or industrial organization

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong knowledge of the automotive, industrials, or manufacturing sectors

• Commitment to ongoing professional development and a continuous learning mindset.  You will be encouraged to take advantage of our firm’s learning and development curriculum

• Expert level research skills and the ability to quickly master research tools to facilitate effective and creative research approaches

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

• An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset to proactively bring in ideas, such as for tools and business initiatives, etc.

• Bachelor’s Degree

Skills and Attributes:

• Articulate and confident communicator in both written and verbal interactions

• Attention to detail and high accuracy

• Familiarity with information sources such as Refinitiv Eikon, Factiva, Preqin, S&P Capital IQ or similar tools is a plus.  Knowledge of Python, Web Scraping or Power BI is beneficial but not required

• Resilient with ability to operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines

• Tenacious drive to solve challenging research projects

The applicable base salary range for this role is $79,000 to $142,000

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
