Job Summary:

The ESG analyst will assess WHSmith North America performance in areas related to sustainability, Ethical practices, and corporate responsibility. They analyze data, create reports, and provide insights on how a company manages its impact on the environment, social issues, and governance structures.

This role involves evaluating ESG risks and opportunities to contribute to investment and ways of working decisions.

The ESG analyst will also promote the responsible business practices within the company. Also will be responsible to propose, develop, and implement ethical and sustainable processes, ways of working or methodologies, that will help the organization to reach its ESG goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of the Company’s products and Business.
• Balance the materials requirements with the needs of the key stakeholders.
• Generate ideas to feed the roadmap of ESG activities.
• Follow through and roll out projects that are initiated/piloted.
• Anticipates current and futures needs.
• Drive efforts to improve our positive ESG impact to the business.
• Establish budgets and business cases to get project funding.
• Support cross-functional team on ESG processes needed to conduct our business (COO, Intertek, Sedex, or equivalent).
• Defines ESG strategies and communicates them internally.
• Manage suppliers, associations, charities that will partner with us.
• Identifies and investigates new technologies, additional and/or alternative sources, etc..
• Identifies, implements, and tracks results of initiatives, pilots, projects…
• Interacts with WHSmith Corporate Procurement (UK).

• Able to gain agreement or consensus among key stakeholders.
• Communicates constraints of suppliers to key stakeholders.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
