The Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson seeks a full-time Medical Records Coding Specialist to join their Health Information Management team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
The ideal person for this position is someone organized, accurate with details, and knowledgeable of acute care coding.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Accurately and efficiently assign diagnosis and procedure codes to medical records for all patient types using the appropriate ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accord with specific payor requirements.
Use computerized systems to enter data.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all information related to patient data.
Maintain effective and professional communication with hospital staff and patients.
Keep current your credentials issued by AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or the AAPC.
WHAT WE OFFER.
$21.00 – $35.38 per hour.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field required.
Credentials issued by AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS or AAPC, or ability to obtain credentials within 1 year if hired for this position required.
At least 1 year of acute care facility coding experience.
Ability to interpret medical information and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to coding required.
Proficiency with computer systems and coding data entry required.
Exceptional communication and organization skills required.
Ability to handle large work volumes, changing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
