Job Description

The Mart Group is currently seeking a Full-Time Controller. This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the Mart Group companies. The responsibilities include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The Controller will enhance the accuracy of the companies reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles

Duties and responsibilities

· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

· Develop, document and maintain strong internal control environment

· Manage the audit of Financial Statements

· Oversee financial operations of multiple related entities

· Manage Senior Accountant and AR/AP Clerk

· Manage the month-end close process

· Ensure payables are paid in a timely manner and receivables are collected timely

· Oversee the processing of payroll

· Assist management with important financial decisions

· Monitor financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs and implement processes

· Create and help departments with budget development and preparation and investigate actual costs incurred compared to budget

· Process grower settlements in a timely manner

· Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations

· Look for efficiencies in financial processes and implement necessary changes

· Provide financial analyses as needed

· Prepare ad hoc reports as necessary

Qualifications/Skills

· Bachelor/Masters degree in Accounting or related field preferred

· CPA preferred

· 3-7 years’ accounting experience

· 3-7 years’ working in accounting/ERP system

· Fluency with GAAP

· Excellent Excel skills

· Ability to communicate at all levels of the company

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
• GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPA (Preferred)
