Summary: Under supervision of the DON, performs duties related to providing basic nursing and personal care and assistance to the residents of the Martha Jefferson Health Care Center. Supports the Corporate Compliance Program, the Code of Ethical Conduct, and promotes the mission and values of Martha Jefferson House both internally and within the community.
Essential Functions:
1. Provides basic nursing, personal care and assistance to residents
2. Assists with transporting residents to and from the dining area
3. Assists residents with toileting, changing and bathroom privileges
4. Turns residents confined in bed and assists with bed making
5. Assists with maintenance and storage of residents’ clothing and belongings and cleanliness of environment
6. Takes and records residents’ vital signs
7. Cleans a variety of equipment
8. Carries out proper cleansing and PPE with care for residents
9. Empties soiled laundry bins, and trash cans
10. Performs range of motion
11. Assists resident with feeding and monitor food and liquid intake for nutritional status 12. Informs charge nurse of change in residents’ condition
13. Provides post-mortem care
14. Documents all care and notifies nurse of any refusals of care or change in resident’s condition
15. Performs other work as required
