POSITION SUMMARY
Martin Electric is currently seeking a self-motivated Electrical Estimator who is excited about the opportunity to work on a high-performing team – energizing some of the most exciting projects in our area. As an Electrical Estimator, your primary focus will be to develop a pipeline of quality projects for our field teams to execute. The successful candidate will require the independent judgement to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Review construction plans and specifications to perform a complete takeoff and detailed bid proposals
- Attend all project bid walks/ pre-bid meetings
- Prepare bills of material and work packages for competitive vendor/ subcontractor quotes
- Develop, submit and track pre-bid RFI’s
- Lead bid scope reviews with Clients
- Evaluate whether or not the critical milestones in construction schedule are feasible based upon equipment lead times and manpower availability
- Analyze project conditions that would impact efficiency & costs such as site logistics, schedule, safety, working hours, etc.
- If awarded the job, prepare a turnover package to the assigned Project Manager to include bid folder, takeoff, specification abstract, vendor quotes, and all other correspondence relative to project
- Initiate and lead job kick off meeting with project team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 7 years’ experience in electrical estimating, specifically in the commercial and industrial sectors
- Journeyman License and/or Bachelor's Degree preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Estimating Software, Conest preferred
- Basic understanding and experience with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of the Upstate NY market with local vendor and Client relationships
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Time-management
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $90,000-$140,000, per year, paid weekly, commensurate with experience and qualifications
