MET is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin GmbH für Umwelt-und Energietechnik based in Munich Germany and founded in 1925. Martin GmbH services the energy-from-waste (EfW) industry by providing engineering, design, consulting, planning, and general contracting services. In addition, it manufactures and installs products for boiler systems; and offers plant modernization, equipment overhaul, repair, and maintenance services. Further, the company engages in research and development activities. Martin GmbH has been serving the North American market for over 30 years and its’ newly formed subsidiary MET will expand its support to the EfW and renewable energy markets with its local presence.
Position Overview
The will be responsible for supporting four (4) operational functions:
1. Technical Application- Working collaboratively with MET’s technical, sales, and administrative staff in quoting combustion system equipment and spare part needs; specifically, in confirming their technical scopes and accuracy. For non-routine customer orders, the individual will also collaborate with Munich-based staff in drafting quotations with the parts and services required to satisfy the request.
2. Quality Control/Assurance – Conducting vendor site visits to inspect and provide production support on Martin-supplied equipment.
3. Procurement Coordination – coordinate delivery time/vendor schedule control on projects with critical delivery time
4. Warehouse technical assistance – Providing technical guidance, QA/QC oversight, and logistical support in the fulfillment of customer orders.
It is a highly visible position for an experienced technical professional who has the desire to expand his/her knowledge base in the environmental field of EfW and Martin GmbH’s detailed product line.
General Responsibilities
· Clarifies the technical scopes of customer-requested MARTIN combustion system components equipment.
· Generates customer-specific project/spare parts quotations.
· Manages projects/orders with a focus on delivering high customer service level and on-time project deliveries.
· Visits customer sites as required to provide proper customer support, training, and project/scope definition.
· Visits and supports vendors on technical and commercial matters for proper project production.
· Generates inspection reports of equipment/project production status and key quality control aspects.
· Assumes administrative responsibility for generating orders, once the order specifics are verified and determined to be technically feasible and accurate.
Qualifications
· Education: Technical College (minimum requirement) /Bachelor’s Engineering degree from a four-year college or university (preferable)
· Minimum 2 years’ operations or maintenance experience in utility power plants and/or energy-from-waste facilities
· Familiar with power facility primary components (i.e., Boilers, Incineration/Combustion systems)
· Previous experience with vendor management business aspects – pricing negotiations, contract review, quality control/quality assurance
· Previous experience in technical proposal preparations including scope definition and commercial provisions.
· Capability to read and interpret technical drawings.
· Previous experience with engineering tools and design techniques will be considered a plus.
· Ability to travel (10-20%) to customers and/or suppliers’ sites for project review, training, and technical discussions.
· Familiarity with Project/Order Management tools and practices
· Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn and utilize customized ERP systems
· Must have strong written and oral communication skills
· Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
· Strong desire for continued growth and learning
