Description
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Plant Manager to be responsible for leading and managing all safety efforts at the plant as well as planning, pit development, quality control, customer services and maintenance functions in a quarry environment. Additional objectives include asset protection, financials, budgeting, cost control, environmental, personnel and community relations. This position will lead the management team and hourly employees for our Arrowood Quarry in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the safety, health, environmental programs, guidelines and policies
- Lead and develop salary and hourly workforce to create teamwork and drive a safe and productive environment
- Ensure compliance with Company, Local, State and Federal rules and regulations
- Leads operations to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling of plant activities to include schedule, production and training activities
- Performs incidental and related duties as required and assigned
- This position will be accountable to manage a team of 20 employees
Requirements
- Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety
- Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnel
- Strong leadership skills; possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production and quality
- Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- This is a full-time position and may require long hours and weekend work
- Occasional travel will be required
Preferred Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Engineering and four or more years of supervisory experience or equivalent
- Skilled Trade Certification(s) are a plus
