Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Plant Operator for surface operations at the underground mine in Randolph, Missouri. This position is responsible for controlling plant equipment and operations in a full-automated/computer-operated rock crushing plant.
Essential Functions
- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Move controls to start/stop or adjust machinery and equipment that crushes materials
- Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety and efficient operation and to detect malfunctions
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear
- Monitoring processes, materials and surroundings
- Tend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processes
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
- Work in a team environment
- Clean work areas
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment
- Notify supervisors of needed repairs
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritizing for production needs
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40 hours per week.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
- MS Office and other computer skills preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Physical Abilities
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- General physical activities including climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping and handling materials
Salary : $39,700 - $50,200
