What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st shift position at Martin's Snacks?
SUMMARY
Inspects raw potatoes, pulling defectives and trimming those with minor defects. This position also inspects finished potato chips, pulling those that are defective.
Also, operates the popcorn line (kettle and Air popped). This position will rotate from the Kettle raw potato inspection to the popcorn line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Regulates and maintains a steady flow of inspected potatoes to the fryer.
- Cuts large potatoes into smaller sizes.
- Inspects and sorts potatoes for defects and trims minor defects from potatoes.
- Inspects and sorts finsiehd potato chips for defects.
- Recognizes problems with product and equipment and reports to management.
- Operates the kettle poppers
- Operates the pocorn air poppers
- Responsible for popcorn line changeovers.
- Completes required paperwork.
- Follows first in first out procedures.
- Accurately weighs raw ingredients.
- Fills in for other production positions as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or general equivalecy diploma (GED) and;
- Three to six months related experience and / or training or;
- Equivalent combination or education and experience.
