Position Summary

Martin Technical is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who is responsible for maintaining accurate records on accounts payable, accounts receivable, completing bank and credit card feeds including reconciliations, and making journal entries. This position includes supporting the accounting department daily and interacting with our accounting team, sales, operations, and marketing teams in a professional and courteous manner. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate records for accounts payable.
• Accounting general ledger entries, data entry and making journal entries.
• Bank deposits. Bank and credit cards electronic feeds, including multiple reconciliations.
• Multiple state sales/use tax reporting and filings.
• Maintain business licenses and renewals, reporting and filings.
• Document tracking and reporting.
• Maintains financial security and confidentiality by following internal controls.
• Support management with reports and information.
• Other jobs and duties to support accounting as needed.
• Contributes to the continued success of the job.

Qualifications & Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following:

• Proven work experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and produce work with high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational, multitasking and time management skills.
• Experience with accounting software, knowledge of QuickBooks extremely preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software and ability to learn new applications.
• Ability to interact on a professional level with management and other departments.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with team members.

Additional skills that are highly valuable include

• QuickBooks Desktop experience highly desired
• Advanced computer skills.

Education & Work Experience

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting required.
• Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

• In-office position with some remote / flex day

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
