The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. The maintenance manager will lead a team of technicians and collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve operational excellence.


Responsibilities and expectations: 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs and procedures to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize overall operational efficiency. 
  • Manage and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback for performance evaluations and to ensure a high level of productivity and technical expertise. Must be able to develop mechanics’ skills and/or provide training to further their skill level to improve individual and facility performance.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and timely procurement of equipment, tools, and supplies. 
  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize disruptions to operations and maximize equipment uptime. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential improvements. 
  • Completes all OSHA-required training as required and corrects any unsafe conditions as necessary. Issues discipline as required for unsafe acts. Promoting a culture of safety awareness and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. 
  • Coordinate with internal departments, such as Logistics, Production, and Quality to ensure smooth coordination and execution of maintenance activities. 
  • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to obtain necessary services, parts, and equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual agreements. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to maintenance management, and recommend process improvements and equipment upgrades as appropriate. 
  • Provide cross-function support internally to drive and contribute towards the overall success of the Strong Brews operation commitments and production output goals. 
  • Implement and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and other maintenance software.
  • Provide strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as production equipment and general building maintenance practices. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of maintenance technicians. 
  • Demonstrate organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 
  • Deliver clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications. 
  • Have the ability and flexibility to work outside regular business hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education and experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of previous experience in a maintenance specialist role
  • Minimum of 3 years in the beverage and/or food manufacturing industry
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management position
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft business applications and various reporting software.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • PLC experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in SAP preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and training is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid business acumen, management, analytical, and problem-thinking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Field positions will be exposed to various unfamiliar conditions where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and which may include, but are not limited to: manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other venues as directed by the supervisor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.


Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Martin Bauer offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, generous time off allotment, and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
