The Opportunity: Research Manager
For a research consultant with proven experience in quantitative methodologies to address critical business objectives, with an unwavering customer-focused attitude who employs a consultative approach to solving strategic business issues.
We have a wonderful opportunity for a Research Manager in our Chicago office who will hold a client-facing position leading & supporting innovative research as part of our Consumer Goods & Services team. As a team member, you will have a direct influence on our future growth and success by managing: existing strategic client engagements including, proposals, research design, analysis, recommendations and presenting results. We are looking for consultants with proven experience in using quantitative and qualitative methodologies to address critical business objectives. With impeccable client management skills, creativity, attention to detail and strategic insight in the delivery of research results and consultative recommendations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support multiple research engagements, serving as one of our client contacts
- Proactively investigating client needs, communicating study progress, working very closely with our operations team internally, and resolving any issues to ensure project success
- Initiate strategic and creative delivery of research design, analysis and reporting
- Understand the basics of sampling, data weighting, and data prep for analysis
- Experience writing effective questionnaires for research purposes
- Ensure hands-on quality control throughout the entire project process
- Support the broader team, helping on various project tasks as needed to ensure successful delivery of multiple projects at once
- Strong attention to detail used to check survey links/programs, data tables, and reports for accuracy
- Experience with a wide range of research methodologies and techniques
The Ideal Candidate: Requirements and Experience:
An experienced researcher who is self-motivated and enjoys working with clients while employing a consultative approach to solving strategic business issues.
Specific Experience:
- BA/BS Degree required
- 2-4 years related work experience in quantitative market research
- Ability to write questionnaires, manage and oversee project execution, analyze data sets, visualize/chart data and support the teams' creation of insightful and actionable reports
- Experience working with a variety of online research methods
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to coordinate other research and operations staff and delegate completion of individual tasks
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of quantitative research project work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Experience with custom research is a plus
- Previous experience working with or having some involvement with C G & S is an asset
