Summary:

Coordinates and assist with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives/programs to ensure we are providing an inclusive environment. Some of the Initiatives/programs include: education, engagement activities and leading the DEI committee. Coordinates various Human Resources functions and may provide support in multiple areas of the department which include: volunteer services, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, and payroll. Provide support for the HR front office.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Support and promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives.
  • Support general requests for assistance and information from leaders and staff.
  • Create and send out monthly Diversity, Equity and Inclusion newsletters.
  • Lead Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
  • Collaborate with Education Academy to provide DEI education opportunities for staff.
  • Assist in the planning and development of new initiatives/programs and enhancing current. initiatives/programs that promotes DEI and builds community relationships as needed.
  • Ensure cultural holidays are acknowledged and celebrated as appropriate.
  • Maintain and update the DEI SharePoint site.
  • Coordinates and provides support for the annual Minority and Disability Scholarship program. Process claims, submits reimbursements to winners.
  • Completes projects as requested by HR leaders, including conducting research and surveys for compensation, benefits, engagement, retention and turnover, performance management, staff development, and other areas as assigned. Provides assistance as needed, in all areas of HR and may provide back-up assistance for specialized functions.
  • Participate and lead employee engagement activities, communication initiatives, and establish HR presence within all departments through departmental staff meetings, focus groups, new hire feedback meetings, Lunch & Learn opportunities, etal.
  • Assist with Career Seminars and Job Shadow programs, in a manner that ensures the process is inclusive and representative of the community and patients we serve. Continually look at community outreach efforts with a focus on the underserved and without regard for gender, ethnicity, age, race, color, national origin, veteran, and other legally protected status.
  • Designs and updates effective marketing, brochures and displays to attract qualified interest from students and candidates, including social media and web site materials.
  • Functional System Administrator for assigned areas. Possess core business and process knowledge, rules, policies, procedures and practices. Possess strong leadership and decision-making skills. Liaison / coordinator with staff at multiple sites as well as maintain vendor(s) relationship.
  • Provides back-up assistance in the Human Resources front office including answering phone lines, triaging calls, taking messages, transferring calls, greeting employees, applicants, and other visitors, and responding to requests for information.

Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training Requirements):

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor's preferred in related field
  • 1-3 years applicable experience.
  • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High level of verbal and written communications skills and ability to multi-task
  • High level of service orientation with strong sense of urgency
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to organizational mission with a whatever it takes attitude
  • Outgoing, reliable, driven and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physical Demands: Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time); to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 10 pounds occasionally; to sit for the majority of the time, but may involve brief periods of time involving walking or standing; to use keyboard frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)

Other Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting
