Position Summary

Under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the training program for assigned application(s) and ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities to support patient centered care.

Position Responsibilities
-
Unit Specific Position Responsibilities- Masters the functionality and flow of the assigned application(s).
- Participates in workflow design and collaborates with other trainers and application analysts to meet training needs.
- Builds, tests, and maintains the training environments.
- Becomes proficient in utilizing Captivate software. A program used to create electronic online learning courses.
- Develops and maintains training materials.
- Coordinates training for additional trainers in the organization as needed.
- Coordinates training for new and existing employees in the organization.
- Coordinates training for new software releases and updates.
- Maintains a knowledge base of Healthcare industry trends for performance enhancements and improvements.
- Assists users of computerized systems by solving problems related to software and, if needed, contacting vendor support, McFarland MIS/EHR personnel, and/or the Information Systems staff to resolve problems.
- Adheres to project management scope and timelines
- Provides caller assistance and coordination for the Clinical Applications Systems (CAS) Help Desk.
- Participates in the department on-call rotation for software support.
- Follows all HIPAA security requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Protects and preserves patient dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
-
Baccalaureate degree.
-
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Organizational Requirements:
-
Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.
-
-
Preferred Qualifications:
-
A minimum of one year hospital setting experience
-
Minimum of two years adult teaching experience
-

Health Information Technology Certification
-
Baccalaureate degree in business, education, a clinical field or information systems.
-

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
-
Achieve Epic certification, in no more than three attempts, and within 6 weeks of completing all courses required for each training track identified on orientation competency checklist.
-
Maintain Epic certification(s) through “New Version Trainings” to Epic Honor Roll requirements.
-
Knowledgeable of industry rules and regulations.
-
Demonstrated ability in problem solving, thinking logically and creatively to develop systems that meet the needs of the organization.
-
Ability to work effectively with team members and reach decisions.
-
Ability to effectively communicate benefits of using information technology in the organization.
-
Strong analytical skills to translate existing procedures into the Epic system effectively.
-
Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
