What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Associate position at Maryland Brand?
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION(S):
- Responsible for providing skill training, personal care assistance and constant supervision to a person or group of persons served in the food service operation.
- Attends and participates in the person served annual CHOICE meeting, assisting in the development of the CHOICE plan.
- Provides skill and/or development training in the area of food service, including but not limited to, food preparation, customer service, and Health Department Regulations.
- Completes data collection sheets, time cards and necessary paperwork for each person assigned.
- Responsible for completing task analysis and time studies in accordance with Federal and State Department of Labor Regulations.
- Maintains equipment and work area in a sanitary condition, following proper safety and sanitation procedures in all activities in accordance with Health Department regulations and OSHA.
- Ensures all supplies and equipment needed to perform task are present and in proper working order at all times.
- Prepares and serves food to customers in accordance with the customer’s order or prescribed diets in adherence to the portion sizes specified by recipes.
- Adheres to physician prescribed diets at locations where applicable.
- Checks and completes temperature chart of food during preparation and prior to serving.
- Acts in a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain current ServSafe certification.
- May answer the phone and take customers’ orders in a professional manner.
- Inventory food products and related supplies.
- Will place food orders as assigned by Manager.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- May perform duties at any station within the food service operation as required by the managers.
- Makes weekly bank deposits.
- Submits invoices weekly to the Manager.
- Submits weekly paperwork as assigned.
- Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties.
- Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy.
- Attends and participates in all in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development.
- Presents a positive role model for the person served and Agency staff.
- Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, persons served, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public.
- Assists in handling all emergency situations in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Follows instructions and abides by Agency policies and procedures.
- Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.
SECONDARY FUNCTION(S):
- May direct activities of persons served in all areas of the food service operation and in accordance with outlined goals.
- Works cooperatively and effectively with Agency volunteers maximizing the volunteers experience while meeting the needs of the persons served and the program.
REQUIREMENTS;
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Must have two years’ experience in a food service operation. Must have a valid Maryland Driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy.
