The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The Forecast Analyst performs extensive toll revenue data analysis and cost-per-transaction and financial forecast modeling work for the MDTA. This position ensures compliance with various governing standards. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analyzing voluminous amounts of information from the traffic and revenue database to determine trends, irregularities, and accuracy of data;
- Working with third-party vendors to ensure accurate financial reporting of traffic and revenue data;
- Coordinating the preparation of the cost-per-transaction model;
- Evaluating traffic and revenue forecasts prepared by the MDTA’s traffic and revenue consultant for reasonableness and improvements;
- Preparing the MDTA’s six-year financial forecast of operating budget, capital budget, revenue forecast, and debt service; and
- Attending strategic planning meetings with the Division of Finance senior management to provide key fiscal input and advice when formulating financial strategies.
Employees in this position will report directly to the Revenue Manager. The current vacancy exists in Baltimore, Maryland. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, public or business administration, finance, economics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Six years of experience in professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, fiscal or financial management. **Two years of this experience must include financial planning and data analysis with an emphasis in forecasting.

Notes:

3. Applicants may substitute possession of a Master's degree in one of the above specified fields or concentrations for one year of the required experience.
4. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
