This individual assists the CIT Supervisor with the guidance for all Counselor in Training (CIT)/Safety Technicians. This position acts as a liaison between the nursing staff, CIT/Safety Technicians, and the clients. This individual is responsible for properly overseeing, guiding and training all CIT/Safety Technicians and being a positive role model for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with supervising and advising CIT/Safety Technicians during their shifts alongside the CIT Supervisor.
- Creates daily and weekend schedule for proper shift coverage in CIT Supervisor’s absence.
- Ensures that CIT/Safety Technicians tour the facility and living quarters at regularly scheduled intervals to check building security and no fire or safety hazards in accordance with program and regulatory policies.
- Models professionalism while working with clients and coworkers.
- Monitors client activities during tour of duty, clinical activities, breaks, and leisure time.
- Provides guidance and direction for clients and directs them to clinical staff when appropriate.
- Communicates to nursing staff any medical needs that clients may have.
- Provides crisis intervention services and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Follows procedures in response to all emergencies and demonstrates calm and controlled behaviors during a crisis situation, properly documents the findings with incident reports and results of the response.
- Be alert for activities which could result in possible crisis and assist in situations in a professional and efficient manner.
- Provides a courteous, respectful and pleasant interaction with each client and employee. Maintains and displays good public relations skills when interacting with clients, visitors, and staff.
- Adheres to COVID-19 safety protocols, including monitoring isolation rooms for COVID-19 symptomatic clients.
- Verifies that assigned facility cleaning is being completed and maintained.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in human services, psychology, or related field is preferred. High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Two (2) years previous supervisor experience in a residential or similar environment is required. Previous experience working with the public (such as customer service, retail) is required.
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance. An MVR check will be completed.
