Job Responsibilities :

• Supervises the activities and personnel engaged in manufacturing of products within the assigned department and shift.
• Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives to support the Lean culture throughout our facility
• Interprets, applies, and / or enforces all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, labor contracts, and safety rules.
• Achieves departmental, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality and productivity.
• Promotes clean, safe work areas thought the plant by continuously checking for hazardous conditions.
• Maintains employee morale by portraying a positive image of the company.
• Develops, directs, and manages manufacturing personnel and trains them to properly utilize all equipment and tools.
• Directs manufacturing personnel to maintain product quality and meet customers’ requirements.
• Consistently administers company policies and practices regarding attendance, performance, etc.
• Communicates with employees on a regular basis.
• Participates in activities such as training and safety programs in order to enhance the overall effectiveness of the work area(s) involved.
• Monitors and enforces safety and housekeeping regulations within the department
• Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
• Monitors work activities within the department to ensure product quality, production requirements and efficiencies are met
• Confers with management and participate in employment-related issues for people within the department
• Other duties as assigned as necessary

Qualifications :

• 3 years of supervisory plant production / manufacturing experience is required
• Experience in finishing process required
• Understanding of production process specific variances
• Ability to plan production schedules to maximize efficiency and clear communication with each shift
• Must possess the ability to effectively share operating knowledge and capability to enhance worker's ability to operate the line
• Experience in finishing / assembly of wood components preferred
• Clear understanding of and practicable experience with lean manufacturing practices and tools
