Optometric Technician

```Duties```
- Perform preliminary tests and screenings on patients, including measuring visual acuity,
intraocular pressure, and visual field testing.
- Assist the optometrist in conducting comprehensive eye examinations.
- Prepare patients for specialized tests, such as retinal imaging or corneal topography.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the optometrist.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Clean and maintain equipment and instruments.

- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye.
- Medical office: Familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols.
- Pediatrics: Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred.
- Aseptic technique: Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
during procedures.
- Patient care: Ability to provide compassionate and attentive care to patients.
- Retail sales: Basic understanding of retail sales principles for assisting patients with frame selection and lens options.
- Vital signs: Proficiency in measuring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse rate.
- Medical coding: Familiarity with medical coding systems for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Front desk: Ability to handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records.
- Medical billing: Knowledge of medical billing processes for insurance claims submission.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
