We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Dalton, MA. In this position, you will play a critical role with an exciting organization known for innovative currency and banknote technology.
*This 3rd shift position.*
The Quality Assurance Technician performs inspection auditing and testing of manufacturing processes and products to assure and document consistent product quality. It is critical that numerous properties of stock, paper, and other manufacturing materials conform to required specifications and that quality or compliance concerns are communicated with urgency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Complete physical testing on material comparing Company and customer specifications
- Mix colors accurately following predetermined formulas
- Complete series of color control testing, advising Beater Engineer of color changes needed
- Perform shipment sample tests, advising the Finishing Department of any skids which are out of specification
- Audit the product throughout the manufacturing process
- Perform Equipment Verification Testing
- Maintain 5S and safety compliance as well as maintaining appropriate levels of lab supplies

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; BS/BA degree preferred
- Ability to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to receive, analyze, interpret and report out information accurately and efficiently
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team
- Capability to understand and follow operating/job procedures and work in a safe manner
- Pass pre-qualifying tests in data entry and math
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to work any shift and/or overtime as needed
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position
- Demonstrated ability to understand the quality requirements of Crane Currency products and processes, and his/her role in ensuring this quality.
- Ability to ensure quality requirements are met utilizing TAPPI standard test methods.
- Ability to operate and calibrate lab testing equipment; solid understanding of test equipment.
- Good mathematical aptitude on paper, calculator, and Excel.
- Excellent problem solving skills, including ability to perform root cause analysis, and determine deficiencies, trends, or outliers in data.
- Must be proficient in supporting the paper machine and sheeters in essential testing after six weeks of training (responsibilities referenced on Training Requirement W02-04-081).
