Job Summary:
The Staff Physician is responsible for providing safe, high-quality medical care to patients across various age groups. This role involves prescribing medications, overseeing medical support staff, and delivering primary care services. The Staff Physician demonstrates expertise in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while adhering to relevant standards and regulations.
Compensation information: $215k- $270k Base salary
Bonuses: monthly/quarterly and annual bonus **Candidate that chooses monthly bonus over Quarterly bonus will get a lower base salary- vice versa, if they choose Quarterly over monthly bonus, the candidate will come in at a higher base salary---Annual bonus is for everyone! **

Work Hours:
Standard 80 hours per two weeks with flexibility to accommodate patient demand.

The work environment is well-lit, air-conditioned, and ventilated, ensuring optimal conditions for clinical practice.
Job Relationship:
• Workers Supervised: Medical Support Staff as assigned by the Medical Director.
• Supervised By: Medical Director
Qualifications:
1. Education:
• Graduate of an approved and accredited Medical School.
Licensure, Registration, and Certifications:
• Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Louisiana.
• Possession of Medical School diploma.
• Board Certification Notification and/or Board Eligible.
• Federal and State DEA Certificates.
2. Training and Experience:
• Prior experience in community health center and management is advantageous.
3. Job Knowledge:
• Proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
• Ability to provide primary care services to diverse patient populations.
4. Physical Demands:
• Ability to perform both mobile and sedentary tasks.
• Must be capable of bending, performing procedures, and moving freely.
• Occasional local and national travel may be required.
Essential Job Functions:
• Displays comprehensive knowledge of the Employee handbook and consults with the Medical Director for clarification when needed.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating the center's annual healthcare plan.
• Establishes and maintains an effective healthcare system with an emphasis on wellness and illness prevention.
• Directs and supervises subordinate staff under the guidance of the Medical Director.
• Facilitates communication between the Medical Director and non-management medical department employees.
• Provides input on budgetary considerations to the Medical Director.
• Channels employee feedback constructively to the Medical Director.
• Demonstrates leadership by motivating and guiding supervised employees.
• Leads by example in adhering to performance and conduct standards.
• Participates in organizational meetings and internal committees as required.
• Meets or exceeds productivity standards monthly and annually.
• Utilizes electronic medical records (EMR) and other technologies efficiently.
• Actively engages in external association activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of workplace information in accordance with institutional policies.
• Prescribes medications generically when appropriate.
Patient's Rights: Respects patient privacy and ensures informed consent is obtained.
Environment of Care/Surveillance of Infection: Attends general orientation, responds to emergency codes and drills, demonstrates knowledge of environment of care policies, and enforces them.
Leadership: Maintains open communication, supports teamwork, follows the chain of command, and accepts additional assignments willingly.
Human Resources: Adheres to grievance and attendance policies, participates in continuing education, attends staff meetings, and assists in staff orientation.
Performance Improvement: Participates in continuous quality improvement activities, suggests practical solutions, and actively engages in health disparity collaborative efforts.
Fiscal: Clocks in/out correctly, utilizes resources cost-effectively, and provides quality patient care while minimizing costs and maximizing revenues.
Interpersonal: Interacts positively and productively, communicates effectively, serves as a role model, and represents the health center professionally in the community.
Equipment Utilization: Effectively uses computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other information systems.
