What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Violin Instructor/Teaching Artist position at Mason Community Arts Academy?
The Mason Community Arts Academy at George Mason University seeks candidates for the position of Teaching Artist of violin. Candidates must support the mission and educational program needs of the Academy. He or she will maintain an active studio of private students. The candidate must have significant experience as a private teacher who understands the needs and capabilities of the developing performer at all stages of artistic development. He or she is expected to create a nurturing, yet challenging teaching and performance environment that fosters successful learning. The candidate is expected to take an active role in recruiting and retaining students. They may also have an opportunity to coach chamber music and/or teach group classes. Master of Music, or performance equivalent, with substantial professional performance and demonstrated teaching experience is required.
