Cook – This is a Per Diem position to cover for sick, vacation and LOA, on variable days, as needed, in the Culinary & Nutrition Department. We are looking for reliable, trustworthy, compassionate people to join our team. Experience is optional, positive attitude is essential.
Job Summary
The Dietary Cook is responsible for cooking and providing hot nutritious meals for patient and customer needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
* 1. Prepares food items according to quality standards of flavor, color, texture, appearance, aroma, and serving temperatures.
* 2. Prepares food items in a timely, economical and efficient manner.
* 3 Accurately forecasts appropriate quantities of food to prepare for the patients and cafeteria. Practices accurate portion control.
* 4. Complies with food storage procedures.
* 5. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment and kitchen utensils in a safe and sanitary manner.
* 6. Actively participates in quality improvement activities.
* 7. Prepares food items according to standardized recipes.
* 8. Secures kitchen and storage areas following procedures.
* 9. Maintains a clean, safe work environment at all times.
* 10. Performs assigned tasks in a timely, economical and efficient manner.
11. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
2. Two (2) years of food service preparation and cooking preferred.
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
1. Current State of Washington Food and Beverage Service Workers permit
