Responsibilities:

The Telephone/ Paging Service Technician position encompasses work to be performed with low voltage and associated type of wiring. This will require installing, altering, maintaining, or repair of telecommunications systems, including but not limited to, telephone, intercom, Paging Systems, security camera, and electronic door entry systems. Work on these systems or associated wiring may require either work to be performed within outdoor or indoor spaces. Coordinate and be responsible to survey a location for new system installations as well as trouble shoot existing systems for issues that need to be addressed.

Prevailing wage work will be offered.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Four years of full-time, satisfactory journey-level experience, acquired within the last ten years, in the maintenance, installation, or repair of telephone communications systems and equipment.

2. License Requirement A Valid NYS (or equivalent) Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Employees must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.

3. Basic network computer skills for programming.

4. Ability to run cable, terminate and tone cables.

5. Ability to read a Voltmeter.

6. Own transportation.

Preferred Skills

The ability to diagnose and solve problems. Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in industry. Ability to read blueprints and diagrams. If you know your way around a phone system you can handle paging system repair and install, it’s probably easier. The biggest requirement is to have good troubleshooting skills, tracing wiring and to handle paging system repair and installation. The Honeywell system is a plus. Knowledge of 25v,70v paging system and 24v Valcom systems. Audio background and knowledge of audio gaming structure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Telephone Systems Installation: 4 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• OSHA 30 Hour Construction Course (Required)
• NYC SST 10 Hour Course (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• New York, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)
