About the Certified Nursing Assistant/Registered Medication Aide (CNA/RMA):
The Certified Nursing Assistant / Registered Medication Aide protects, sustains, and nurtures the Residents of MAHOVA by assisting with person-centered activities of daily living and by administering prescribed medications and authorized treatments to residential and assisted living Residents in a respectful, kind, and caring manner. Other duties as assigned. The shift for this position is 3 pm -11 pm, and every other weekend.

Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Registered Medication Aide (CNA/RMA)::
- Assists residents with person-centered bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring, promoting skin integrity, nutrition, hydration, mobility, and safety in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Proficiently uses all required functions related to the Electronic Medication Administration System. Administers medications and treatments in compliance with the Home’s policy and procedure.
- Monitors assisted living residents’ conditions during every two-hour round and more frequently as indicated and follows up as appropriate.
- Documents observations completely and legibly.
Qualifications of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Registered Medication Aide (CNA/RMA):
- Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Registered Medication Aide by the Virginia Department of Health Professions; CPR and First Aid certified
- Previous experience in healthcare with a general knowledge of assisted daily living needs required, preferably in a long-term care or continuing care retirement community setting serving the elderly; one-year experience as a CNA / Registered Medication Aide preferred.
- High School Graduate; graduation from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant Program; and successful completion of State Registered Medical Aide educational requirements.
